Pwning Friedman

The Juice-Box Mafia has always had it out for Thomas Friedman, and it's usually been pretty amusing. This kneecapping by Spencer Ackerman continues in that tradition.

Ackerman says, "None of that says a single thing about the importance or the prospects for any military endeavor. To believe otherwise is to substitute reasoning for emotion, which is deeply irresponsible in matters of life and death."

While I agree with the point he is making, I do not agree that substituting reason with emotion is categorically irresponsible in matters of life and death. I think that kind of bold statement plays into the notion that reason is inherently superior/preferable/legit compared to emotion!
